Current Job Openings: Inpatient Care Center

 

Clinical Administrative Assistant -Inpatient (Full-time):

  • Embraces hospice philosophy with the ability to represent the hospice program of care accurately
  • Provides clerical support for clinical operations and maintenance of the clinical records
  • Responsible for clinical data tracking, collection, entry and reporting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Competent working knowledge/skills with Windows and Microsoft Office computer software
  • Minimum of Associates Degree; preferably in Office Administration and Technology or higher
  • Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent position.

Clinical Team Leader--Inpatient (Full-time):

  • Assist in oversight and coordination of day to day operations in inpatient facility setting.
  • Supports Director of Clinical Services in duties such as but not limited to quality assurance initiatives, staff scheduling, facilitation of IDT meetings and staff education.
  • Ensures quality delivery of patient and family care by providing guidance in communication, coordination and effective operations relating to patient and family care
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations on short notice and with ease
  • Ability to exercise independent, sound judgment in planning and providing quality Hospice nursing care.
  • Sound working knowledge of Hospice Conditions of Participation (COPs) and clinical standards of practice
  • BSN required, MSN preferred from an accredited program and licensed in the State of Hawai’i
  • Two years hospice management and five years of leadership experience preferred

Clinical Manager Inpatient:

  • Responsible for the provision of clinical leadership to the immediate inpatient clinical team members.
  • Focus of this role is on the day to day delivery of excellence in quality care provision, ensuring all clinical governance and compliance targets are met, providing 24/7 ongoing support/patient care as needed.
  • Provides effective leadership in ensuring clinical standards and practices comply with Hospice of Hilo’s vision, mission, values and policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated organizational and critical thinking, analytical skills, detail-oriented and follow up.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations on short notice and with ease.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent sound judgment in planning and providing quality hospice nursing care.
  • BSN required, MSN preferred from an accredited program and licensed in the State of Hawai‘i.
  • Two years hospice or facility management and five years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Hawai‘i State nursing license.

 

Per Diem (on-call pool) Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Provides skilled hospice nursing care to multiple patients in a facility setting as a member of the clinical team.
  • Requires excellent observation, critical thinking, assessment, nursing judgment & communication skills.
  • Must be available for shift work as needed: day/evening/weekend/holiday.
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Hawaii and degree required; BSN degree preferred.
  • 2 years experience in a hospice, hospital or nursing home setting.

Per Diem (on-call pool) Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA):

  • Requires excellent personal care and communication skill.
  • Compassionate, flexible, well-organized and dependable individual.
  • Must be available for day/evening/weekend/holiday & PTO coverage assignments as needed.
  • Current State of Hawai’i CNA certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years home health or hospice care experience.

 

Current Job Openings: Hospice Homecare Services

 

Full-time Medical Social Worker:

  • Conducts initial assessments and implements psychosocial counseling. Demonstrates clinical competencies
  • Collaborate & consults with interdisciplinary team regarding the plan of care
  • Supports patients adjustment of terminal illness & palliative medical treatment
  • Establishes the need of & provides information, coordinates resource planning & referrals to community resources
  • Maintains professional accountability & responsibility
  • Home/health, hospice/bereavement experience preferred
  • Active State of Hawai’i license (LSW or LCSW) required
  • Master’s level degree in Social Work
  • Minimum two (2) years social work experience

AR Billing Specialist:

  • Responsible for the follow up and management of accounts receivables. Ensures claims are paid and outstanding issues related to claims are addressed.
  • Data entry of all accounts receivable.
  • Maintains and records all income received and reconciles accounts monthly.
  • Works closely with Bookkeeper and prepares monthly reports as requested.
  • Serves as back up to Medical Biller.
  • Detail oriented problem solver with excellent communication skills
  • Upholds accuracy standards
  • Ability to multi task
  • Self-starter with excellent research skills
  • Knowledge and experience with medical billing processes and general accounting principles.
  • Minimum or an AS degree in accounting, business or related field.
  • Working knowledge of professional accounting software knowledge preferred.
  • Coding certification & ICD-10 experience preferred.
  • 2 years medical billing experience in healthcare setting preferred.

Dietician (Casual Hire):

  • Evaluate the health and diet needs of patients
  • Provide nutritional counseling in a hospice setting
  • Good decision making and judgment capabilities
  • Ability to instruct others and identify and solve complex problems
  • Registered dietician licensure is required
  • 2 years dietician/nutritional counseling experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Full-time Registered Nurse--Admissions:

  • Highly skilled nurse with ability to exercise professional judgment using excellent critical thinking and assessment skills.
  • Completes admission process in patients home, hospice facility and contracted facilities on a as needed basis.
  • Works as a part of an admission team to coordinate referrals to admission.
  • Provides direct patient/family palliative nursing care, education & support.
  • Current RN Hawai`i State licensure required.
  • B.S.N. & 2 years nursing experience preferred.

Full-Time Registered Nurse:

  • Highly skilled nurse with ability to exercise professional judgment using excellent critical thinking and assessment skills.
  • Provides direct patient/family palliative nursing care, education & support.
  • Current RN Hawai‘i State licensure required.
  • B.S.N. & 2 years nursing experience preferred.

Full-Time CNA (Certified Nurse's Aide):

  • Ability to independently provide direct personal care services to patients in their homes under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Requires excellent personal care and communication skills.
  • Compassionate, flexible, well-organized, dependable individual who is able to embrace the Hospice philosophy.
  • Current State of Hawai'i CNA certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years home health or hospice care experience.

    **Position requires driver's license, auto insurance & reliable transportation. ***

 

Per Diem (on-call pool) Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Responds to phone calls and provides nursing care coverage for  day/night/weekend/holiday & PTO as needed.
  • Requires excellent observation, critical thinking, assessment, nursing judgment & communication skills.
  • Current RN State of Hawai’i licensure required.
  • B.S.N. & 2 years nursing experience preferred.

Physical Therapist (Casual Hire):

  • Provides PT services to patients as ordered in the patient’s plan of care.
  • Provides in-service education & consultation to the interdisciplinary team as requested.
  • Performs assessments/evaluations & recommends therapeutic & functional goals for the patient.
  • Instructs patient/family in the use of therapeutic appliances & devices.
  • Must be available for work on an as need basis.
  • Required: Current State of Hawaii License.
  • Minimum 2 years experience.
