THE HERO'S JOURNEY - Annual Youth Grief Camp

October 9-10
Pahala Plantation Cottages

A special weekend for our island's youth who have
experienced a loss due to the death of a family member or friend.

Camp Pohai Maluhia provides guided activities that help youth work through grief, as well as have a fun, memorable camp experience.  In a  relaxed, supportive, open and safe environment, campers work with professionals to learn positive ways to share their feelings related to their loss and learn new ways to cope.

The Hawaiian words "Pohai Maluhia" were chosen for the camp name as they describe a welcoming circle where family and friends unite to find strength on life's journey.  Camp Pohai Maluhia empowers youth to make positive choices in overcoming the obstacles in their journey.  Parents/guardians are invited to meet con-currently to learn additional ways of supporting their youth as well as coping with their own sense of grief.
